leadnfl logo 0Phiren Amenca is working with partners EgyüttHató Egyesület / Association Co-Efficient (Hungary) and Nevo Parudimos (Romania) on the project “Learned Inactivity – Decreasing the Number of ESL Students in Disadvantaged Communities with the Power of Non-Formal Learning” (abbreviated as LEADNFL), which looks into causes of early school leaving among Roma young people with the aim of developing a toolkit for using non-formal education to help combat and reduce it.

The project partners held our second transnational partners meeting in Romania on 15 December 2016, to check in on progress being made in the project, discuss upcoming activities, and review plans for the future phases of the projects. Currently the research phase is in full progress, with research ongoing in multiple communities. A next major phase will be a workshop with experts to examine and reflect on the information gained through the research, and to begin developing methodology for the non-formal education toolkit that will be a key result of the project.
