The Phiren Amenca network took part in the ternYpe study session in the European Youth Centre in Budapest on campaigning. After the successful youth conference of the Roma Genocide Remembrance Initiative – “Dik i na Bistar” 2013 in Krakow, Auschwitz, ternYpe started a one year Europe-wide campaign for recognition of the Roma Genocide through grassroots mobilization. The campaign aim is also to make a connection with the negative phenomenon of antigypsyism nowadays in Europe.
The ternYpe study session ran from 15-21 September 2013, involved 40 Roma and non-Roma participants from 12 countries, with some of our volunteers and our coordination team from Phiren Amenca. We shared with the participants our innovative and creative campaigning tools and methods to develop a successful campaign together. Further, we motivated the youth activists and youth organizations to get interested in international voluntary services.
