Moving 7500 kms from home to learn about humanity- Vikas (India-Hungary)

I am Vikas Jagtap from India. I am 23 years old. Previously I worked as a School Councillor in the English Medium High School from July 2017 and a multi purposed worker in an orphanage from November 2018. I’ve been a project coordinator in a foundation called Step up which raises the awareness of girls and women about menstrual health related issues, from May 2017.

Presently, I am a Vice Chairperson in the Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI). It’s working for people to become committed to Jesus Christ as Lord, Saviour and Liberator; to understand critically and participate creatively in the total life of the university; to become aware of the contemporary social realities, be involved in the the struggles for fuller humanity and to participate in the life of the Church for its mission, renewal and unity.

I completed my Bachelor in Science (Physics) in July, 2016 and my Master of Social Work in Urban and Rural Community Development in August, 2018.

I am a religious person. I would like to learn something new and I’d like to visit new places.

I feel very happy because I got the opportunity of being a part of EVS at the Phiren amenca ofice in Budapest, Hungary. During this volunteering experience I would like to learn and understand the international and local networking systems. I hope I will use this wonderful experience in a different part of the world.
