This needs assessment – based on interviews and focus group discussions complemented with desk research – was carried out between October and December 2022 to better understand the situation of Romani women refugees who fled Ukraine because of the war to Budapest.
The report intends to present the recent situation of the Roma in Ukraine, the situation of the Ukrainian refugees, with particular attention to the Ukrainian Roma refugees in Hungary, presents the results of the survey conducted among the Ukrainian Roma refugee women in Budapest and the surrounding area, and collects recommendations for programs supporting Roma refugee women.
