“Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference.”- Imlikokla

My name is Imlikokla Jamir and I’m from India.

I’m a 5th semester (arts) student in SM college, Dimapur, Nagaland.

A member of the Christian Revival Church, red ribbon club, worship committee and also the finance secretary of SCMI, SM college.

If i had to tell about myself, i would say that I’m a person who likes to take on challenges and also try to focus on the positive side of any person or situation that i come across. My hobbies would include Singing and cooking.

I want to volunteer for the community and see whether I could make an impact on the community however small or insignificant it may be. I believe even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of people and organisations in need. On the other hand, dedicating my time as a volunteer will help me make new friends and boost my social skills. Most of all, helping others kindles happiness and satisfaction in me. It brings untold fun, joy and fulfilment in life.

In these 9 months, I hope to achieve new skills and gain new experiences. I also hope to make a difference in the community and come across meaningful experiences with fellow volunteers or those we are giving to and to make a real and valuable positive affect on people, communities and society in general.

Koko is a Phiren Amenca volunteer in Italy, hosted by CSD Diaconia Valdese and sent by the Student Christian Movement of India, within the Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity building for Youth project “My Story of Resistance- from exclusion to active participation”.
