I would like to continue to do work that helps others – Júlia

My name is Julia Kalamár. I’m 19 years old, I finished high school this year. I love reading, traveling, and meeting new people. So far, I have lived with my family in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, arriving in Italy at the beginning of October. I volunteer in a nursing home in San Germano Chisone, where I participate in the preparation of programs.

After I graduated from high school, I didn’t want to go straight to university. I heard about volunteering abroad from my acquaintances and I really liked the idea of spending a year abroad, getting to know a new culture and people, and helping others at the same time. I chose Italy because I always liked the Italian mentality, the way of life, and I wanted to get to know it more closely.

In the future, I would like to continue to do work that helps others, even if I continue to work with the elderly. I would also love to stay in Italy.
